Thames Christian School is a small, distinctive senior school and sixth form in the heart of Battersea, where every young person is known, valued and stretched. With around 200 pupils across ages 11 to 18, we get to know each student as an individual and bring out the best in them. Our sixth form is built for young people who want to be understood and achieve highly through genuine, caring challenge.
Set in an award-winning RIBA building two minutes’ walk from Clapham Junction, Thames offers a broad, flexible curriculum and exceptional teaching in the visual and performing arts, with award-winning facilities including science laboratories, art rooms, STEM workshops and performance spaces. Students go on to strong destinations, with 52% of A Level grades at A*-A and around a third of leavers heading to Russell Group universities. For our creatives, we look at the whole young person, not just GCSE results, and some earn unconditional university offers in subjects such as Architecture and Product Design on the strength of their portfolios.

We would love to talk with you about joining the Thames sixth form. Share a few details and our Admissions team will be in touch to arrange a visit.
If you do not have a place that you are truly happy with, or are simply looking for a sixth form that truly understands creative and independent young people, we would be glad to hear from you. Places are available now and whilst GCSE grades are important we are looking for students who will thrive in their choice of A Level subjects. Arrange a personal visit and see the school for yourself.

Our sixth form is built around each cohort rather than a rigid path. For the coming September students choose up to 3 A levels and can mix and match subjects from 3D Design, Biology, Chemistry, English Literature, Fashion & Textiles, Fine Art, Geography, History, Mathematics, Music, Physics, Psychology, Spanish and Theatre Studies.
We believe young people achieve the most when they are happy and confident, so wellbeing and character come first. With small classes and a genuine, tangible Christian ethos, every student is known and cared for as an individual. Our support for creative and neurodiverse learners is a real strength: we are on the CReSTeD register as a dyslexia-friendly school and have been described as a blueprint for including neurodiverse pupils in a mainstream setting.
The visual and performing arts are a genuine strength at Thames. Our teaching in Fine Art, 3D Design and Textiles achieves exceptional results, and drama and music thrive alongside them.
Beyond the classroom all sixth form students complete a highly valued Life Skills course which includes independent volunteering, computing and IT skills, leadership development, culinary skills, mentoring and sport. Students also have the opportunity to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and in a trip to Tanzania. This all helps them grow in confidence and independence, ready for life beyond school.
