See a School Where Every Child Is Known
A small, distinctive independent school in Battersea for ages 11 to 18. Creative, flexible and genuinely nurturing. Register for our next open morning.

Welcome to Thames Christian School

In a city full of schools, Thames offers something different. We are a small, distinctive senior school in the heart of Battersea, with around 200 pupils across ages 11 to 18. Here, every child is known, valued, and an education is crafted around them rather than a rigid system. Children who want to be understood thrive with us.

Set in an RIBA award-winning building two minutes’ walk from Clapham Junction, Thames is grounded in a genuine, tangible Christian ethos where every child is seen as unique and highly valued. Wellbeing and character come first, because happy, confident children achieve the most. Come to an open morning where you will be able to speak to current pupils and staff as they show you around the school. If you are looking for a September 2027 entry we can arrange a personal tour.

Academic — built around your child

We inspire pupils to be curious, to take risks and to discover their passions. Our broad, flexible curriculum is built around each cohort, from a wide choice of GCSEs through to a sixth form that combines subjects from the sciences, languages, humanities and the creative and performing arts along with the core subjects of maths and English. Strong outcomes follow: 52% of A Level grades at A*-A and around a third of leavers moving on to Russell Group universities, achieved through genuine, caring challenge rather than pressure.

Wellbeing and pastoral care

With small classes, a 1 to 6 staff-to-pupil ratio and a genuine Christian ethos, every child is known and looked after as an individual. Pastoral care is central to everything we do. We also offer real understanding and support for creative and neurodiverse learners, and are on the CReSTeD register as a dyslexia-friendly school, described as a blueprint for including neurodiverse pupils in a mainstream setting

Creative arts, sport and co-curricular

Creativity runs through the school. Our teaching in Fine Art, 3D Design and Textiles is exceptional, and drama and music flourish alongside a full programme of sport, clubs, activities and trips. There is room for every child to follow their passions and grow in confidence.
